Client spotlight: Gatsby the boxer mix & Gertie the lab mix

Gatsby & Gertie
Good dogs Gatsby & Gertie

This month’s client spotlight is very bittersweet. Gatsby & Gertie have been clients of Delightful Doggies since the very beginning, and they are two of the sweetest dogs rescued off the streets I’ve ever met. I will miss them, since they’ll be moving out of state at the end of the month! These two sweeties have had rough starts to their lives, but their parents took them in and have done their best to make sure they’re happy, healthy and well taken care of. They’re also awesomely well-behaved dogs through consistent and positive training.

When I first met these two, I fell in love instantly. Gertie’s never-ending smile and Gatsby’s sweet manner really touched my heart. They’re proof again how much dogs can endure and still love and accept us, despite the hardship they’ve also faced by originally being dumped on the streets. They are a testament to the deep loyalty and forgiveness dogs can show to us, and they’ve learned and done so well in training. They are able to sit well at crosswalks, calm down when prompted (sometimes they like to get a little excited!), and they are even able to do a down-stay and wait until released for their meals!

Gatsby enjoys ear scratches and giving kisses, while Gertie enjoys getting her booty scratched. They both really love going on their walks, and enjoying Kongs stuffed with ice, kibble and other wonderful delights during the mid-day visits!

Their parents have been tremendously supportive of the business by giving great reviews and referrals, and it’s been a pleasure to build such a great relationship with them. It is very sad for me to see them go, but I am also very happy to have been able to know and care for them, and I wish them the best of luck in their new home.

Thank you! Bon voyage, sweethearts,
Laura
